How to keep it simple?

The recipes for keeping it simple usually say: „Wear classics”. Seems like that is the key for success. All right. But what does it actually mean? 

Classic. The most undefined feature of our wardrobes. Because what is the description for „classic”? Repeating, conventional, horror of horrors! banal? How is that possibile that words that seem not very positive, define the attribute that is wanted always and everywhere?

Paradoxically, this narrow quality gives us an infinite opportunity for interpretation. For some of us, classic means black suit, for others that would be a pair of perfect denim pants. In my opinion, every season and occassion has its own terms of defining classic. Stripes, jeans, red lips; that is one of my foolproof combinations - simple enough, still not boring. Balanced. After testing such a composition, the definition of classic may be created once again. And it simply means reliable.

Najczęściej spotykany w receptach na zachowanie prostoty w ubiorze przepis: „ubieraj się klasycznie”. Czyżby właśnie to było kluczem? Ok, tylko co to znaczy? 

Klasyczny. Najbardziej niedookreślony zwrot opisujący garderobę. Bo jaka jest definicja „klasycznego”? Powtarzalny, konwencjonalny, o zgrozo! banalny? Jak to możliwe, że niekoniecznie pozytywne określenia składają się na cechę zawsze i wszędzie pożądaną?

Paradoksalnie pojęcie pozornie wąskie, daje nieograniczone możliwości interpretacyjne. I tak dla jednej z nas klasyczny będzie czarny kostium, dla innej idealne dżinsy. Ja uważam, że każda pora i okazja inaczej dyktuje składniki prostego zestawu. Paski, dżins i czerwone usta to jedno z moich „klasycznych połączeń”  – utarte, ale nie wytarte. Odpowiednio zachowawcze, jeszcze nie nudne. Zrównoważone. Po przetestowaniu takich połączeń definicja klasycznego zestawu rodzi się na nowo. Znaczy tyle co niezawodny.

Song for today 

These photos were taken literally a few hours before zipping our suitcases up and heading to the airport. That was'nt the only sunny day during our stay, although, the sun made that end of our trip even harder than it already was. 

The sweater I wore that day now is one of my absolutely beloved outer garment - if the temperature is pleasant enough and I'm not planning spending lot of time outside it perfectly replaces a light coat. Almost all the accessories I used for completing this outfit (except for shoes) were my purchases from our extremely long visit at Primark a day before. I've already told you a few times about my latest obsession which are hats of all kind (I'll do my best not to mention it as often as I used to recently). According to that, I wear the hat from the pics too often. And why? Because it's neural enough to combine it with tens of various outfits and extravagant enough to make a simple look much more interesting than without it. So, how do you like this effect?

Te zdjęcia zrobiłyśmy dosłownie kilka godzin przed zapięciem walizek i ruszeniem na lotnisko. To nie był jedyny słoneczny dzień podczas naszego pobytu, jednak muszę przyznać, że taka pogoda nie ułatwiała i tak już ciężkiego do przeżycia wyjazdu. 

Sweter ze zdjęć to ostatnio moje ulubione okrycie wierzchnie - jeśli temperatura na to pozwala i nie wychodzę na zbyt długo, spokojnie zastępuje mi lekki płaszczyk. Prawie wszystkie dodatki (oprócz butów) to łupy ze strasznie długiej wizyty w Primarku dzień wcześniej. Pisałam już kilkakrotnie o mojej aktualnej obsesji, jaką są nakrycia głowy (postaram się już nie powtarzać, a przynajmniej nie za często). W związku z nią, kapelusz ze zdjęć noszę prawie do wszystkiego - to jedno z moich ulubionych akcesoriów, a dlaczego? Bo jest wystarczająco neutralny, żeby dopasować go do dziesiątek zestawów i dość awangardowy, żeby strój stał się znacznie bardziej interesujący. Jak się Wam podoba?

Total black in London - Day 3

Good morning! This is the last (maybe almost last) post of this kind. The supply of to-be-published photos is getting smaller and smaller and soon I'll come back to posting more at the moment articles. 

So, the third day in London was my favourite, I guess - our best friend made it and went out with  us (do visit her blog - darebenasty), the weather was fantastic and we ended the day shopping. 

We started our sightseeing tour with a stroll toward Buckingham Palace and a few pictures in front of Victoria monument. I could't resist careful watching the guardian in front of the palace and the details of his uniform. The hats they wear are actually made of the bear fur (1 hat = 1 bear). They tried replacing it with some ecological forms of the hats, although, they weren't as functional as the traditional ones. 

Next, we headed toward Trafalgar Square and stepped in to the National Gallery. I really spend a lot of time in the museum when I visit one - I think my record is almost 7 hours - and I knew that day I hadn't as much time as I needed, so we focused on a part of it. After a room with the works of impressionists, I was fully satisfied and we headed to Leicester Square and there... M&M's World. As the biggest fan of M&M's I didn't know where to look actually - toys, pillows, clothes and candy on every wall. When Natalia and Zuzia, after long time of persuading, managed to take me out of there (they lost me a few times while looking for the exit), we ended our day on London Street. 

As I wrote before, while sightseeing the most important items to me are flat boots and a big bag. Plus my favourite hat ever - veil beanie. So, what do you think about this total black look? ;)

Dzień dobry! To już ostatni (no, może przed ostatni) tego typu post. Zapas zdjęć do opublikowania powoli się wyczerpuje i już niedługo wrócę do publikowania bardziej aktualnych postów. 

Trzeci dzień w Londynie chyba był moim ulubionym - naszej przyjaciółce udało się wyjść z nami (koniecznie wejdźcie na jej bloga - darebenasty), pogoda była fantastyczna, a dzień zakończyłyśmy zakupami. 

Zwiedzanie zaczęłyśmy od spaceru pod Buckingham Palace i kilkunastu zdjęć pod pomnikiem Wiktorii. Nie mogłam odpuścić sobie chwili bacznej obserwacji strażnika pod pałacem, a ściślej mówiąc, detali jego munduru. Ich czapki wykonywane są ze skóry niedźwiedzia (jedna czapka, jeden niedźwiedź). Podobno próbowano zastępować je ekologicznym futrem, pod wpływem przeciwników naturalnych futer, jednak nie spełniały one swojej funkcji tak jak te tradycyjne. 

Spod pałacu poszłyśmy wprost na Trafalgar Square i do National Gallery. Znam moje możliwości w muzeach - rekord to chyba prawie 7 godzin - i wiedziałam, że niestety mamy czas tylko na część galerii. Po sali z dziełami impresjonistów byłam usatysfakcjonowana i poszłyśmy dalej w stronę Leicester Square, a tam do... M&M's World. Jako największa fanka M&M's nie wiedziałam, w którą stronę mam patrzeć - zabawki, poduszki, ubrania i, co najważniejsze, całe ściany słodyczy. Oczopląs gwarantowany. Kiedy Natalii i Zuzi po długich namowach udało się wyciągnąć mnie na zewnątrz - nie raz gubiły mnie w drodze do wyjścia - dzień zakończyłyśmy na London Street. 

Jak już pisałam wcześniej, podczas zwiedzania najważniejsze dla mnie są płaskie buty i duża torba. Beanie z woalką to zdecydowanie moje ulubione nakrycie głowy - nie mogło zostać w domu :) Co myślicie o takim czarnym zestawie?
